Thirty-three years after it was enacted, the Americans with Disabilities Act has had a major impact. Millions could get a job they couldn’t before, sidewalks are wheelchair friendly, and those with disabilities can communicate better thanks to the ADA.
State Representative Ellyn Hefner led a Capitol celebration on Wednesday.
“We reaffirm the promise of dignity and equity due to people with disabilities,” Hefner said.
