Automatic license plate readers capable of tracking and recording a vehicles’ movement are a growing trend in public safety. These high-speed readers also present potential privacy concerns. Recently State Senator Darrell Weaver proposed a legislative study to explore their use. Currently, there are no laws in place for the collection and use of this information.
