A bill that would give a stipend to Support personnel in every public school in the state has cleared its first hurdle in the legislature. A Senate sub-committee approved the bill, which State Senator Adam Pugh says carries a big price tag.

The bill still has a long way to go and could change substantially or may never gain final approval.
