A bill that would prevent gender changes on birth certificates advances to the house floor. Republican House member Kevin West says his bill will provide clarity.
“The reason for the bill is just to give clarity to Oklahomans as far as what we can and cannot do as far as changing birth certificates,” West said.
Others say it’s a barrier bill making it more difficult for people to change their gender marker.
