A case of avian influenza is confirmed in Adair County in a commercial poultry flock. The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry says it has activated its avian flu response plan and is working with the USDA to control and mitigate the spread in the state. Authorities say flock owners should take precautions and that detections in birds do not present an immediate public health concern and it’s still safe to eat poultry products.
