Wildfire is a growing problem for several parts of the state. Rainfall earlier this year created a lot of tallgrass growth, and that grass is drying out. Oklahoma State University extension specialist John Weir says controlled burns can help reduce the problem.
Weir notes that ten times as many acres of brush are burned in controlled burns when compared to actual wildfires.
