State Capitol observers are wondering if the state Senate will pass a bill to eliminate the state portion of the sales tax on groceries this week. Democrat Senator Julia Kirt realizes the grocery tax is a drain on the finances of all Oklahomans, but she urges her fellow senators to be careful.
Republican Senator Darrell Weaver says it’s time Oklahomans get some relief.
“There comes a point when Oklahomans need a break…” Weaver said.
The Governor is challenging state Senators to send him a tax relief bill sooner rather than later.
