A former Republican Governor and a Democrat Attorney General, Frank Keating and Drew Edmondson, have united to oppose House Bill 4118. They argue that the bill, if passed, could allow out-of-state companies to resume polluting practices, undoing decades of work to clean up Oklahoma’s scenic rivers. The Illinois River, for instance, still has nearly twice as much phosphorus from runoff of chicken waste as is allowed.
