Fake reports of school shootings or attacks cause problems for students – even ones whose school was not targeted. The executive director of Tulsa-based Daybreak Family Services, Rebekkah Taylor, says the effects of those threats last for some time.
“You have the anxiety of being a kid in the world, and you put all of that on top of it,” Taylor said. “That is definitely going to disrupt learning.”
Taylor’s organization provides counseling to school districts, helping them deal with disruptions.
