Oklahoma’s Attorney General is not ruling out criminal charges being filed against state leaders over misspent pandemic relief funding.

Attorney General Gentner Drummond said the state absolutely failed at the distribution of federal money through the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief Program.

Pointing to the report from the state auditor’s office, Drummond said the pervasive culture of waste, mismanagement, and apparent fraud was found.

State Superintendent Ryan Walters blames outside vendors, but Drummond said that is an excuse and the state is ultimately responsible.
