Senate President Pro-Tem Greg Treat extended the invitation three weeks ago. The question is how the governor wants to proceed in calling for the eventual elimination of state income taxes.

The special session focused on this begins tomorrow, and a source says the governor will not make the committee appearance.

“I don’t know how he envisions it working, and I don’t know what he plans on cutting…,” Treat said.

Treat is worried about how the state will cover the lost revenue for income taxes.
