health disparities for black men under study


Researchers at the OU Health Stephenson Cancer Center receive a million dollar grant to test a newly created mobile app to address health disparities among Black men diagnosed with prostate cancer.  Researcher Dr. Mo Adedipe says black men face more challenges to their quality of life, even after successful treatment. The survivorship odds for prostate cancer in black men are good after five years after treatment, 96 percent are alive, but they are coping with long-term complications.
