A House committee approves calling a constitutional amendment giving the governor more power in judicial appointments. State Representative Mark Lepak says it would be more like how U.S. Supreme Court justices are selected.
Representative Andy Fugate questions whether the new process would require a background check and as much input into finding judicial members. The bill passed on a 6 to 3 vote and now goes to the full house for consideration.
