The House of Representatives has given its approval to a continuing resolution that would avoid a federal government shutdown on Friday. Oklahoma Congressman Tom Cole says this deal is almost the same as the one that cost Kevin McCarthy the speaker’s position. Cole says that the move was foolish, and he doesn’t think it will happen again in the near future.
Democrats in the Senate are apparently in agreement and will support that continuing resolution.
