Mascots from colleges across the state are fanning out across the state capitol building today for Higher Education Day. They came from UCO, NEO, SWOSU, and colleges in between. Chancellor for Higher Education Allison Garrett says it’s a time for students to share their stories with lawmakers.
“I would tell you that I think our legislators love what we do in education because they see the life-changing impact of a college degree,” Garrett said.
Garrett said higher education has multigenerational impacts that are critical to the state of Oklahoma.
