Invasive trees damage trees native to Oklahoma

The Oklahoma Conservation Commission’s assistant director, Lisa Knauf Owen, says getting rid of invasive trees must be followed by consistent maintenance.


“It is necessary for controlling these invasives, otherwise, you are back to square one,” Owen said.


Over the last 22 years, the state has cleared 100,000 acres of invasive tree species.
