Investigation Finds Claims About Abundance of Chinese-Owned Land in Oklahoma False

An investigation by the nonprofit news site Investigate Midwest found claims that China is buying up huge amounts of Oklahoma land that are not backed up by facts. This summer, Governor Kevin Stitt talked to Fox News about the issue.

The news investigation found in Oklahoma, only 2571 acres of land is owned by the Chinese company Smithfield Foods pork processor. The biggest foreign landowners in Oklahoma are Canadian and European firms for solar and wind farms.
