The State Auditor’s Office has found millions of dollars misspent through the Governor’s Emergency Education Program, called GEER.
Oklahoma ended up with almost 40 million dollars from the Federal Government during the pandemic. Auditor Cindy Byrd said up to 30 million dollars may have been spent improperly.
“The ones that we reported as having questioned cost were the Bridge the Gap Program and the Stay in Schools Program.”
The feds will now conduct their own investigation, and the Oklahoma Attorney General has asked Byrd’s office to investigate further as well.
