New Law Aimed at Protecting Individuals in Need of Caregiver

House Bill 2753, supported by the AARP, is now law. Oklahoma AARP executive Director Sean Voskuhl explains what this new law means for families who are looking for a caregiver for a loved one.

“It establishes and maintains a vulnerable abuse, neglect, and exploitation registry that will be run by the Oklahoma Attorney General’s office, so it will provide updated quarterly and electronically accessible information to the public…,” Voskuhl said. “You are able to see if they have a criminal background, but it keeps bad actors from working with our… vulnerable Oklahoma citizens.”
