Notification System Launched to Inform of Escaped Prisoners

It’s not unusual for prisoners to escape in Oklahoma – especially from low-security facilities. Department of Corrections spokesperson Kay Thompson says it happens 10 to 20 times a year.

That’s why the department has launched a new notification system called “Orange Alert.” If you sign up, it will notify you of an escape by text message on your phone.
