Oklahoma Lawmaker Looks Toward Alternative Courts for Juvenile Justice

CLICK HERE to listen to details from Radio Oklahoma’s Dale Forbis.

Democratic State Representative Amanda Swope is behind an interim study at the Capitol to determine the best practices for juvenile justice in Oklahoma.

“…looking at what other states are doing, and if there are things that we can incorporate in Oklahoma to make improvements here…,” Swope said.

Swope hopes for discussion of a “young adult” court for people 18 to 24, that could influence a young person away from a life of crime.
