Close to 100 Oklahoma National Guardsmen will be deployed in a few weeks along the southern U.S. border under orders from the Governor. However, they will not be able to do much more than staff security checkpoints.
The guard is not empowered to enforce federal immigration policy. Local law enforcement or border guards will have to deal with any illegal immigrants.
