Oklahoma's 911 Technology to Be modernized Soon

Millions in upgraded technologies are coming to the state’s emergency response system. Right now, the state’s 911 coordinator says that your local pizza delivery person can access better directions to your door than emergency responders can.

Oklahoma 911 Coordinator Lance Terry says it will take some time to modernize the 50-year-old technology being used right now,

“We are probably two to three years out from starting the full implementation,” Terry said. “We hope we can secure a vendor sometime in 2024.”
