The National Institute of Standards and Technology awards Oklahoma State University five and a half million dollars. The goal is to increase knowledge about local weather systems in the lower atmosphere. That would allow the safe use of drones and Advanced Air Mobility aircraft into National Airspace. Congressman Frank Lucas sponsored funding for the effort.
