Transportation Secretary Tim Gatz says he thinks a pay-per-mile program can work, but we’re not there yet.
A task force has been formed as the state deals with expected declining revenue from its gas tax. This would come with more drivers in electric vehicles on the roads. Gatz says more than 400 drivers participated in a pilot program to see how driving more than 1 million miles would work.
