Piece of Black History To Be Brought Back To Life on Route 66

CLICK HERE to listen to Radio Oklahoma's Bob Sands provide details.

Driving the “mother road” for Black motorists in the 20th century, there were only a few places they could stop to buy fuel and food. The Threatt Filling Station in Luther was one of those stops.

It closed back in the 1970s, but efforts are underway to restore the historic structure. The exteriors have already been restored, but plans call for much more work, including an interpretive center, an RV park, and more.
