Representative McDugle Authors Bill to Put Executions on Hold for Two Years

Distrust of the court system and sentencing defendants to death row has been growing in the legislature as two death row inmates’ sentences are now on hold.  Representative Kevin McDugle has authored a bill that would put all executions on hold for two years.

A house committee approved the measure, which would create a task force to make recommendations on improving the process. McDugle and others expect major pushback on the bill from law enforcement and prosecutors.
