Republican Senator Roger Thompson from Okemah submits his letter of resignation today.
The letter, addressed to Senate Pro Tem Greg Treat said, "I am grateful and honored to have had the opportunity to serve the people of Senate District 8 for the last 10 years."
His resignation is effective November 1.
