Kids under the age of 18 won’t be allowed to attend the big annual event by themselves. The change is prompted by last year’s shooting at the state fairgrounds. Kids will have to be accompanied by someone else who is 25 or older if they are on the fairgrounds after 5:00 p-m. Each chaperone can take responsibility for up to five minors – and it’s possible they may need to show an ID.
