Oklahoma has more of the original “Mother Road” Route 66 than any other state. And now its centennial anniversary is coming.
The state legislature created the Route 66 grant with a 6.6-million-dollar fund from municipalities, non-profits, and government entities located on the highway. The purpose is to revitalize and restore Oklahoma’s stretch of that highway. Beginning on Friday, the initial application period for the grant program will open.
