SoonerCare is to offer doula services for mothers in need of emotional and physical support during and after childbirth.

Oklahoma Medicaid Director, Traylor Rains said a mom-to-be with a question can just reach out and get a quick answer.

“A doula can either say, ‘that’s normal,’ in the course of birth or, ‘don’t worry about that,’ or ‘yeah, we need to get you into your doctor,’” Rains said.

Rains said six out of ten Oklahoma births involve SoonerCare.
