A Senate committee has approved a pair of competing bills on sports betting. SB 125 by State Senator Dave Rader is a clean measure allowing tribes that already have compacts with the state to permit in person and mobile app betting on sporting events. Senator Rader argued his bill is what people want.
A second bill from Senator Casey Murdock is favored by the governor and would allow any qualified entity to get involved in sports betting and restricts tribal involvement.
