New legislation would give Oklahoma tenants more of a warning before they’re kicked out of their home. A bill by Democratic State Senator Julia Kertz would extend the deadlines before a family would be left homeless.
Kurtz says this will give families more time to figure out what their next step will be. Tulsa ranks 11th in the country, and Oklahoma City is 20th in the rate of evictions.
