OKC has seen a 57 percent decline in police officers being dispatched to mental health-related calls. Oklahoma City Police Chief Ron Bacy attributes this to increased mental health-related services like the 988 Mental Health Lifeline. Bacy says it’s encouraging to see such a significant reduction in officers being dispatched to mental health-related calls. The 988 Mental Health Lifeline is available 24 hours a day.
