The Oklahoma State Capitol hosted Diabetes Advocacy Day to spread awareness about the disease. Diabetes is currently one of the top causes of death in Oklahoma. Castellanos spoke with Senator Carrie Hicks about the importance of the event.
Currently, more than 34 million Americans have some form of diabetes, with Oklahoma showing one of the highest increases of the disease in the nation.
