triple digit heat settles into Oklahoma

Statewide late July to mid-August are weeks the emergency medical services authority sees the most heat-related illnesses. Every community will soon again see temperatures in the hundreds. EMSA staff believes they might surpass last year's 339 heat-related calls. Know the signs of heat exhaustion which are fatigue and altered mental status after a long time outside.  Shade and water are the best counter attacks to oppressive heat.
