The Oklahoma Department of Human Services and Work Ready Oklahoma is expanding its outreach statewide. While there are facilities in larger cities that help low-income families find better opportunities and assist with issues like childcare, that is not the case in many communities across rural Oklahoma. Work Ready Director Sandino Thompson says the goal is to expand the program’s footprint.
The hope is that centers in rural areas will assist more people in getting ready to enter the workforce, secure jobs, and become more self-sufficient.
